Pedestrianised Medan Pasar or the Market Square used to be the heart of Chinatown. It is a historical place where Kapitan Yap Ah Loy (cited as one of KL's founders) used to live here. This square once holds the city's wet market and served as a place of brothels and illegal gambling dens (now long gone). Today, all that is left is an art deco clock tower standing tall since 1937 to commemorate the coronation of King Geroge VI.
